Habitats: Hedgerows, scrub, open woodland and gardens.
Habits: Both sexes come to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the leaves of Hawthorn, Blackthorn and Crab Apple and less often on Bramble, Rowan, other apples and pears. Pupation takes place within spun leaves or under bark.
