Similar species: Unlikely to be mistaken for any other British species.
Forewing: 8 to 10mm
Habitats: Bogs, mosses, damp heathland, fens, marshes and marshy grassland.
Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in the day. It flies at sunrise and from dusk and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Marsh Cinquefoil. In captivity it also accepts Dandelion and Knotgrass. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
