Similar species: Similar to Dwarf Cream Wave Idaea fuscovenosa that has black dashes rather than dots bordering the wings. Small Fan-footed Wave Idaea biselata has more prominent cross-lines and a larger more prominent central forewing dot.
Forewing: 10 to 11mm
Habitats: Open heathland with scattered shrubs.
Habits: It is occasionally disturbed from low vegetation in the day. It flies from dusk and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in the wild. In captivity the larva accepts Knotgrass, bramble, plantain and Dandelion. It pupates in the leaf litter.
