Similar species: Unlikely to be mistaken for any other British species.
Forewing: 9 to 11mm
Habitats: Breckland heaths and woodland rides, coastal sand-dunes.
Habits: It is easily disturbed in the day. It flies from dusk and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in the wild. In captivity it accepts Field Bindweed, clovers, trefoils, Black Medick, Knotgrass and Dandelion. It pupates in a flimsy cocoon in the leaf litter.
