Habitats: Damp rank vegetation, along hedgerows, ditches, woodland rides, marshy grassland and gardens.
Habits: The moth can be disturbed in the day from vegetation. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Common Sorrel, other docks, Knotgrass, Common Orache and probably other similar species. It pupates ion the leaf litter.
