Similar species: Grass Rivulet Perizoma albulata lacks the large projection on the outside of the orange-brown cross-band that reaches the outer brown area.
Forewing: 11 to 14mm
Habitats: Open woodland, woodland clearings and rides, mature hedgerows, calcareous grassland and sand-dunes. Occasionally along road verges and in suburban gardens.
Habits: The moth is sometimes disturbed in the day. It flies mainly at dusk, although it comes sparingly to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the ripening seeds inside the capsules of Red Campion and sometimes White Campion or Bladder Campion. It pupates in the soil.
