Similar species: This species is distinctive and is unlikely to be mistaken for other British or Irish species.
Forewing: 10 to 12mm
Habitats: Coastal waste-ground and similar inland sites.
Habits: The moth comes to light. There are three British records on the Somerset (1992) and Kent (2005) coasts and in Hertfordshire (1992).
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the ripening seeds of goosefoots and oraches. It pupates in loose soil.
