Habitats: Deciduous woodland, parkland and scrub.
Habits: The moth is occasionally found in the day resting on low foliage. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Wych Elm, English Elm, garden Japanese Golden Elm and possibly Hazel. It is often seen hanging on a silk thread from Wych Elm at night. It pupates in the soil.
