Habitats: Deciduous woodland, scrub, carr, marshes and fens, heathland and poplar plantations.
Habits: The moth is easily disturbed from its foodplant during the day. It flies from dusk and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Aspen, poplars, sallows, willows and Hazel. It pupates in the soil.
