Similar species: This species is unlikely to be mistaken for any other British or Irish moth.
Forewing: 14 to 17mm
Habitats: Damp open deciduous woodland, allotments and gardens.
Habits: The moth is occasionally disturbed from its foodplants during the day. It flies from dusk and comes sparingly to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on the young shoots of Black Currant, Red Currant and Gooseberry. It pupates in a cocoon spun amongst the leaves of its foodplant.
