Similar species: This moth is unlikely to be mistaken for any other British or Irish species.
Forewing: 11 to 14mm
Habitats: On the European mainland; sand-dunes, river margins and gardens.
Habits: The moth comes to light. A potential colonist on the east coast where Tamarisk has naturalised.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Tamarisk.
On the European mainland it has also been recorded feeding on Bog Myrtle.
