Immigrant

Similar species: Bloxworth Snout Hypena obsitalis has similar markings but is smaller (15 to 17mm) and the outer central cross-line continues to the trailing edge.

Forewing: 18 to 22mm

Habitats: In eastern and central Europe it is found in mountain forests.

Habits: The moth comes to Ivy flowers and also sugar and light.

Foodplant: On the European mainland the larva feeds on Common Nettle and dead-nettles.
