Similar species: A very large unmistakeable species with yellow winged females that have two large black spots half way along the forewing.
Forewing: M 18 to 22mm, F 20 to 26mm
Habitats: Mature deciduous woodland.
Habits: The moth nectars at flowers after dark. Both sexes come to light and sugar, the female less often.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Dog Lichen Peltigera canina, other lichens and green algae on trees and rocks.
