Habitats: Deciduous woodland, mixed woodland and conifer plantations.

Habits: The moth flies around the tree tops in hot weather and can be found resting on the vegetation below. It later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on algae and lichens, especially on oaks, Beech, larch and conifers. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
