Immigrant

Similar species: A distinctive moth with a pale central streak that stretches to just past the outer central cross-line.

Forewing: 15 to 18mm

Habitats: A variety of habitats including arable and urban areas.

Habits: The moth comes to light.

Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain. In the Canary Islands and Africa it is known to feed on the Potato-tree Solanum crispum and other Solanum spp., comfreys, Erigeron albidus, Canadian Fleabane, Dahlia spp., wormwoods, Aster spp., marigolds, Calendula spp. and many other plants. It pupates in a flimsy cocoon under a leaf of the foodplant.
