Similar species: Marbled White Spot Deltote pygarga lacks the white base to the forewing and the white area to the outside of the kidney mark at the leading edge.
Forewing: 12 to 13mm
Habitats: In Britain it was found in woodland clearings and open coastal sites. In Europe it inhabits damp, grassy forest clearings, limestone grassland and rocky slopes.
Habits: The moth is occasionally disturbed in the day. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Timothy and other cat's-tail grasses. It probably pupates in a cocoon just below the soil surface.
On the European mainland it has also been recorded feeding on meadow-grasses.
