Habitats: Sunny slopes, breckland, field margins, fallow fields with sparse vegetation, unimproved calcareous grassland.
Habits: The moth is easily disturbed in the day. It flies in sunshine and visits flowers such as clovers and bindweeds. The female basks in the sun. It flies after dark and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds nocturnally on the flowers and leaves of Field Bindweed, hiding during the day at the base of the plant stretched along a stem. It pupates in a cocoon under the soil.
