Immigrant / recent Colonist

Similar species: Pale Mottled Willow Caradrina clavipalpis has a dark suffusion on the outer edge of the forewing.

Forewing: 13 to 15mm

Habitats: Mainly warm, open coastal sites as far north as Gloucestershire and Norfolk, although there are inland sites.

Habits: The first moth in Britain came to light at New Romney, Kent on 3rd October 2002. It is now thought to be breeding all along the south and south-east coasts of England.

Foodplant: The early stages have not yet been recorded in Britain.

On the European mainland an individual was reared from Horse Chestnut. It is said that it is polyphagous on a wide variety of low growing plants.
