Habitats: Marshy grassland, fens, marshes. Immigrants usually occur on the coast.
Habits: It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on oraches, goosefoots, docks, Knotgrass, Water Pepper, Common Nettle, dead-nettles, Field Bindweed and other low growing plants. It pupates in a tough soil-covered cocoon underground.
