Immigrant

Similar species: White Spot Hadena albimacula is smaller (15 to 17mm) does not have a greenish tint, has a large solid area of white towards the trailing edge (rather than a couple of white dashes) and has only a narrow edge of white along the inside of the inner central cross-line without a white crescent to the outside of it.

Forewing: 16 to 20mm

Habitats: In Europe it inhabits open grassland.

Habits: The only record was a moth attracted to light at Cockpole Green, Berkshire on 1st September 1979.

Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain. On the European mainland the larva have been recorded feeding on Tufted Hair-grass, Purple Moor-grass, Meadow Foxtail, Timothy and meadow-grasses.
