Similar species: The brown form of Brindled Green Dryobotodes eremita has a shorter dark basal streak and smaller orange area to the outer side of the kidney mark. Also a paler irregular outer band across the wing.
Forewing: 14 to 18mm
Habitats: Oak woodland and scrub oak woodland.
Habits: The moth comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Evergreen Oak. In the Mediterranean region it also feeds on Kermes Oak. It pupates in a cocoon under the soil.
