Habitats: Marshy grassland, damp meadows, lake and stream margins, moorland and damp woodland
Habits: The moth comes to light.
Foodplant: On the European mainland it has been recorded feeding on Bittersweet, hedge bindweeds, Cowbane, Bogbean, plantains, lettuces and burdocks. It pupates under the soil.
