Forewing: 14 to 18mm

Habitats: Reed-beds, marshes and fens with scattered not dense stands of reed.

Habits: The moth is attracted to light.

Foodplant: The nocturnal larva feeds on Common Reed. It hides in the hollow stems by day. It pupates in a dead, but standing reed stem, sealed with silk.
