Forewing: 15 to 17mm

Habitats: Damp woodland, marshes, fens, marshy grassland and better drained sites such as downland, hedgerows and gardens.

Habits: The moth visits ragworts, Hemp Agrimony and other flowers and is attracted to sugar and light.

Foodplant: The nocturnal larva feeds on Hedge Bedstraw, Ribwort Plantain, Dandelion, docks, Bluebell, Water Figwort and Bramble. It hides near the ground during the day. Pupation takes place under the soil
