Habitats: Deciduous woodland.

Habits:

Foodplant: The larva forms a densely winding gallery mine in a leaf of Aspen or sometimes White Poplar. The mine becomes greatly widened, almost forming a secondary blotch. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
