Habitats: Woodland margins, hedgerows and downland.
Habits:
Foodplant: The larva forms a gallery mine in a Bramble or Stone Bramble leaf. The mine has an unusually short corridor which is much shorter than a Stigmella aurella gallery. The mine has reddish edges and a broad frass line. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
