Habitats: Limestone downland and limestone pavement.
Habits:
Foodplant: The larva forms a narrow gallery mine that descends to the base of a leaf of Mountain Avens while following the leaf margin. The gallery then reverses its direction and widens into a large yellowish blotch that may occupy half of the leaf. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter or spun to the base of a leaf stalk.
