Habits:
Foodplant: The larva forms a full depth gallery mine with dispersed frass in a leaf of Hawthorn, apples or sometimes pears or Wild Cherry. The mine follows the leaf margin over a long distance gradually widening into an irregular elliptic blotch with an exit hole on the upperside. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter or under the soil.
