Habits:
Foodplant: The sometimes numerous larvae feed on lichens growing on tree trunks, fences, rocks and scree. When full-fed they overwinter in a case where they pupate in March attached to a fence, rock or tree trunk. The pupal case is left half protruding from the larval case on emergence.
