Forewing: 4.5 to 6mm

Habitats: Deciduous woodland and parkland.

Habits: The moth has usually been found in hollow trees.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in decaying wood inside deciduous trees such as Beech, oaks and elms. On mainland Europe it is also recorded from Plane and Small-leaved Lime.
