Forewing: 4 to 4.5mm
Habitats: salt-marsh and tidal river-banks.
Habits: The moth comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva lives in a long shallow gallery mine in a leaf of Sea Aster. Later a succession of short full depth mines are made or it eats from below the leaf forming windows. It may also mine the stems. It overwinters as a larva, pupating in May in a white corrugated cocoon on the foodplant or often a grass stem.
