Similar species:
Forewing: 4.5 to 5.5mm
Habitats: Deciduous woodland, woodland rides, downland, scrub and hedgerows.
Habits: The moth comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva forms a gallery mine near the margin of a leaf of Hawthorn, Wild Service Tree or occasionally Wild Strawberry or Rowan. This mine causes the lower side of the leaf to become discoloured brown. The larva then inhabits two successive downward folded cones on the leaf lobes. Pupation takes place in a folded leaf edge in the leaf litter.
