Foodplant: The larva forms a large mine on the underside of a leaf of Goat Willow or occasionally Grey Willow. The mine runs from the midrib towards the margin between two veins or near the distal margin. It crosses several veins and distorts the leaf. There are usually a few longitudinal creases along the central area on the underside. It pupates in a silk lined chamber with frass stacked behind it.
