Forewing: 3.5 to 4mm

Habitats: Woodland margins, parkland and mature hedgerows.

Habits:

Foodplant: The larva mines the underside of a leaf of elm. There may be several in a leaf. On Wych-elm and Small-leaved Elm it is situated between two veins and has multiple strong folds underneath which form a tube. The mine is often more oval in shape on English Elm. It pupates in a brown cocoon.
