Habitats: Deciduous woodland, woodland rides and margins.

Habits:

Foodplant: The larva forms a relatively small mine on the lower surface of a Field Maple leaf. If on a lobe when the mine contracts the lobe folds down over the mine. The upper surface of the leaf appears damaged due to its feeding.
