Habitats: Coniferous and mixed woodland.

Habits: The moth occasionally comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds internally in the terminal shoots of European Larch and occasionally Japanese Larch. This causes them to die. It pupates in a twig with a circular silk covered hole on the underside.
