Forewing: 5 to 5.5mm
Habitats: Heathland, mountain moorland, coastal heath and grassland.
Habits: The moth flies for about two hours during late morning sunshine.
Foodplant: The larva feeds from an open ended case, spun from silk, frass, grass stems and bark. It feeds amongst the dead flowers of Wild Thyme and probably Heather. Pupation takes place in the case attached to something solid such as a twig or a rock.
