Habitats: Deciduous woodland, woodland margins, scrub, hedgerows, gardens or wherever the foodplants are present.
Habits: The moth comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva hides under a narrow silk web, often along the midrib on the underside of a leaf of its foodplant. It feeds on a wide variety of species, especially oaks or Beech, but also apples, Sweet Chestnut, Sycamore, roses, brambles and probably many others. Pupation takes place under a silk web on the underside of a leaf.
