Similar species:

Forewing: 9.5 to 11mm

Habitats: The lower wooded slopes of mountains and glens.

Habits: The moth rests on birch trunks during the day, dropping to the ground if disturbed. It comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds at first in a bud on birch, then from an open ended, narrow silk tube in a folded leaf or rolled down leaf margin. It later feeds from between two leaves spun flat.
