Habitats: Woodland rides and clearings, fens and marshes.

Habits: The moth comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds (sometimes gregariously), in a silk tube within a large, untidy, twisted bunch of leaflets of Wild Angelica or sometimes Hogweed or Milk Parsley. It pupates in the earth or in the leaf litter.
