Habitats: Woodland margins and scrub, dry grassland and downland.
Habits:
Foodplant: The larva usually feeds amongst the flowers and seeds of Pignut, within a spinning in the umbel. Sometimes it feeds on Burnet-saxifrage or Wild Carrot, and occasionally on Spignel or Moon Carrot. When on these four species, it feeds on the spun leaves only. It pupates in the earth or in the leaf litter.
