Habitats: Chalk and limestone downland, gardens and garden centres.
Habits: The moth rests in Juniper bushes during the day. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The first instar larva mines a needle of Juniper or its cultivars, then overwinters in the mine. In the spring it feeds from a dense web over the needles, sometimes gregariously. It has once been recorded from Lawson's Cypress. It pupates in a cocoon in the larval web.
