Similar species:

Forewing: 5.5 to 7mm

Habitats: Sand-dunes and sparsely vegetated tracks on chalk downland.

Habits: The moth can be disturbed in the day and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in the rootstock and lower stem of Silverweed. This may cause the plant to become sickly and wilt. It pupates in the stem.
