Habitats: Dry herb rich grassland and dry coastal grassland heath.

Habits: The moth makes low short flights in sunshine. It occasionally comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds around the base of prostrate Petty Whin or Hairy Greenweed. It feeds on the leaves from a dense silk tube in the moss. The tube stretches up the stem into the leaves. On the European mainland it has also been recorded feeding on Broom.
