Habitats: Deciduous woodland clearings, rides and margins.
Habits: In Europe it rests on tree trunks and comes to light. The moth has not been recorded in Britain since the 19th Century.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in the spun shoots of Greater Stitchwort. In Europe it is said to also feed in the seed-capsules in June.
