Habitats: Open deciduous woodland.
Habits: The moth has been recorded resting on an oak trunk. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Greater Stitchwort and Bog Stitchwort. In Britain it is only known to feed on spun shoots after hibernation. On the European mainland it is recorded as also feeding on Common Chickweed and Wood Stitchwort and the young larva mines a long, broad gallery in a leaf before overwintering.
