Forewing: 5.5 to 6.5mm
Habitats: Deciduous woodland.
Habits: The moth rests on tree trunks during the day. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain. On the European mainland the larva feeds on oak leaves. It migrates to the moss on the trunks when full-fed. It is thought that this is where it pupates.
