Similar species:
Forewing: 4 to 4.5mm
Habitats: Open woodland.
Habits: The moth has not been recorded in Britain since the latter part of the 19th century (at Merton, Norfolk). Until recently it was thought to be a synonym of Elachista regificella.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain. The larva was probably feeding in a gallery mine in a leaf of Field Wood-rush or Heath Wood-rush in Britain, as the known foodplant on the European mainland (Great Wood-rush) is not present on the only British site.
