Similar species:

Forewing: 4.5 to 6mm

Habitats: Wet meadows, pond margins, coastal landslips, ditches and gardens.

Habits: The moth flies in sunshine and visits flowers of the foodplant. It occasionally comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds from a web under a lower leaf of Common Fleabane, eating windows and turning the upperside of the leaf brown. The web may extend to the stem or even across several leaves. The larva pupates in a dense silk cocoon in or close to the web.
