Forewing: 9 to 11mm

Habitats: Deciduous woodland, scrub and large gardens.

Habits: The male flies in afternoon sunshine. It comes to light.

Foodplant: The polyphagous larva feeds from spun leaves or a turned down leaf edge of oak or Hornbeam, birches, limes, Hawthorn, Blackthorn or a wide variety of other broadleaved trees and shrubs. It pupates in the leaf litter in a brown cocoon of silk mixed with debris.
